UI Designer, Lexia Learning

Lexia Learning, a Rosetta Stone company and a leader in educational software development, is looking for a talented user interface designer to join our busy product development team. The ideal candidate will work with various cross-functional teams to develop highly usable and motivating educational design solutions for our award-winning line of K-12 literacy and language products. We have a large installed user base across the US, so the ideal candidate will be motivated (like we are) by the chance to have a big impact in the lives of children.
The UI Designer will work closely with Art Managers, design leads, and other inter-departmental team members to bring our products to life. We focus on student engagement and motivation so a love of learning and connecting with kids and teens is a must.
Typical responsibilities
Collaboratively design, iterate, and produce assets for modern and engaging interfaces for K-12 game, browser, and mobile products
Define and document interactive graphic design layouts in coordination with other creatives and the content team that support and elevate educational objectives
Build and maintain interactive prototypes to prove new features and communicate their design within the team
Participate in the testing of designs directly with students
Process and deliver assets to engineering, and verify their implementation with fidelity
Create and update visual specification and UX documentation
Photo research and image processing
Implement UI best-practices across products in coordination with the rest of the UX team
1 to 2 years in an interactive creative industry
Strong visual design skills, including an understanding of iconography, use of color, dynamic screen layout, and information hierarchy
Strong digital asset production skills
Proven ability to develop kid-centric experiences
Talent for inserting unexpected moments of joy into UI designs and layouts
Highly organized with strong verbal and written skills
Fluency in Adobe CC products Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD
Experience in Sketch, proto.io, and other prototyping tools a plus
Experience with 3DMax a huge plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
