R&D Engineer II

SUMMARY The Electronics Business Unit (EBU) of ANSYS is seeking a R&D Engineer II to join ANSYS Electronics Desktop (AEDT) Circuits & Systems team to participate in ongoing research and development of a SPICE-like circuit simulation engine and related technologies. These tools are used to simulate circuit & system performance for EMI/EMC, signal integrity, power integrity and radio frequency (RF) design. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the various aspects of software development of AEDT components within the Circuits framework. RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in planning, architecture, and research. Perform moderately complex software development activities in C++ that may require extensive analysis in solver research. Employ best practices and help to maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring. Perform moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions. Research and understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or related technical field, or a Master's degree with three years of relevant experience. Strong mathematical background, especially in Linear Algebra and Matrix theory. Ph.D. degree with two years of experience (four years if Master's degree) in scientific programming with at least two years of experience developing numerical methods and algorithms. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D. degree is preferred. Knowledgeable in the internal working of a circuit or system simulation, especially either in numerical methods for solving differential algebraic equations, or in Scattering parameters and how to model them in time-domain simulation. Proficient in advanced C++ concepts. Experience in high-performance computing. 7211
