Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic requirements for the 1102 Series:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees, AND at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields:
accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. (The 24 semester hour requirement can be obtained within the bachelor's degree OR in addition to the degree.) (Note:

The education requirements listed above apply only to individuals entering DoD 1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000. The following personnel are exempt from meeting this requirement:
(1) current DoD employee, in any occupational series, who has served on or before September 30, 2000, as follows:
(1) Served as a GS/equivalent-1102 position or contracting officer position with authority to award or administer contracts above the SAT in any Federal agency; OR (2) Served as a military member in a comparable military occupational specialty; OR (3) current member of the armed forces who occupied a position within an occupational specialty similar to the GS-1102 series on or before September 30, 2000. Your resume MUST indicate that you possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution AND your resume MUST show that you possess at least 24 semester hours of study in the courses listed above. This requirement applies to those entering DoD 1102 position on or after Oct 1, 2000. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Experience Required:
GS-11 One year of specialized experience includes meeting all of the following:
1) Conduct acquisition planning and contract pre-award functions to include:
a) determine method of procurement/contract type, b) prepare solicitations that communicate requirements to industry; c) evaluate responses to solicitations for price reasonableness, compliance with terms, and adequacy of competition; and 2) administer contracts to include contract scope determinations, modifications, close-outs and/or terminations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education:
Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major course of study in business administration, accounting, law, marketing, statistics, production management, industrial management, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-12 One year of specialized experience includes meeting all of the following:
1) conduct acquisition planning and contract pre-award functions to include:
a) determine method of procurement/contract type, b) prepare solicitations that communicate requirements to industry; c) evaluate responses to solicitations for price reasonableness, compliance with terms, and adequacy of competition; 2) administer contracts to include contract scope determinations, modifications, close-outs and/or terminations; and 3) provide technical assistance to teammates by leading teams in achieving both pre and post award objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
